The manufacturers of Physiokey devices have stated that these devices can be used for performing techniques of SCENAR therapy. However, to do so, Physiokey devices should have characteristics similar to SCENAR devices.

One of such characteristics is the treatment energy setting. For SCENAR therapy techniques it is important not only to have a wide variation range of energy, but also the smoothness of energy adjustment. The wide range allows working with different receptive structures: Autonomous Nervous System, receptors of the Central Nervous System, CNS fiber tracts, blood vessels, soft tissues, and muscles (Fig.1). The tuning smoothness allows precisely reaching the sensitivity threshold of the respective structures.

In SCENAR devices the energy can be smoothly changed within the range from 1 to 250 units with uniform energy increase within the entire range, and with minimal energy level of no more than 2% from the maximum value. This is the requirement of the standard.

Physiokey appears to have the energy setting function as well. But it is changed in the range of 1 to 99 units. So, even theoretically that means that Physiokey’s tuning is 2.5 times less smooth than SCENAR’s. In fact, Physiokey stops changing its energy after reaching the value of 56 units. That means that its adjustment is 5 (!) times more rough.

Thus, Physiokey device has 5 times more chances to significantly overreach the sensitivity threshold, not achieving the duly physiological reaction. The treatment energy could turn out to be either insufficient to operate at the desired level, or too high, so it will ‘skip’ it. That is just like a wrong dosing of the medicine: one tablet will not bring the desired effect, and two will cause the intoxication.

Thus, the technical implementation of treatment energy control in Physiokey device is significantly different from SCENAR, not allowing to perform SCENAR therapy techniques correctly.
